The April 8 Redmond City Council meeting was cancelled because it was determined that a study session on the Redmond-Woodinville corridor was not needed.

The long-term idea of turning a mile-and-a-half stretch of Redmond-Woodinville Road, otherwise known as SR 202, between 124th Street and 109th Street into a five-lane road appeared to be squashed at the Feb. 12 City Council meeting when all seven members expressed serious concerns about the project. Several citizens also have expressed their disapproval of the project over the past few months.

The city staff was worried about having enough right-of-way if they ever wanted to go ahead with the project in the future, but Council President Nancy McCormick said this week it seems as if that concern has been alleviated. The official report will come out next Friday and will be available online, she said.

Even if the project had support, there was no funding for the project until at least 2022, Don Cairns, the city transportation services manager, told the Council at a previous meeting.
