Every year, Lake Washington School District (LWSD) asks parents and community members to provide feedback about how the district and schools are doing. The survey provides good feedback to the district on important concerns as well as what parents and community members think are going well.
This information is used by the district in its continuous improvement processes. Many of the questions are used for reports to the school board. Results are also broken out by school and provided to principals for use in their continuous improvement process. Parents and community members alike are invited to take part.
Survey questions are based on the Nine Characteristics of High-Performing Schools. This framework for school improvement was developed by the Office for the Superintendent of Public Schools based on a review of the research on what makes a high-performing school. Students’ parents and community members’ answers will help the district understand how to improve schools and help the district to be as high performing as possible.
The survey is open from now through June 9. To participate, visit http://www.k12insight.com/k/SsWYVTsUYTsPsPsP or www.lwsd.org and click on the “Your Voice” link.
