Redmond-based Operation Wandering Waffle (OWW) is throwing an online art auction to benefit Old Dog Haven, a local network of private homes helping Western Washington homeless senior dogs.
The auction will showcase a number of donated pieces by local artists and will feature a variety of mediums and art styles including traditional, digital, photography and more.
Pieces will be available to view after Nov. 2 at www.operationwanderingwaffle.com. A link to the auction will be posted on that same website the morning of Nov. 7 and will stay open until midnight Nov. 8.
People must register at www.WebStore.com to purchase/bid on art. Registration is free.
OWW is a charitable campaign started by Redmond sisters Megan Merritt-Bishop and Chanel Merritt. They organize and manage various events and activities that benefit local charities. OWW is all volunteer and does not keep a cent of what is donated to their events — 100 percent goes to the partnering charity.
In addition to planning various fund raisers, OWW promotes volunteerism, kindness and creativity.
“We are dedicated to proving that giving beck to your community is not only gratifying, but also a lot of fun,” said Chanel.
The campaign began in May of this year when they organized their first event — a scavenger hunt that raised $1,000 for NAMI Eastside (a mental health organization) and 450 pounds of food and goods for Hoplink Food Bank and Homeward Pet Adoption Center.
