The City of Redmond needs volunteers to join “ReLeaf” efforts on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Westside Park at 5810 156th Ave. N.E.

Volunteers will plant native plants and trees where invasive plants were removed and maintain previous plantings within the park to make Westside Park more scenic and accessible. These plantings will also help cool and shade Clise Creek, developing a better place for fish and wildlife.

The work will continue regardless of rain, so volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather including work boots and gloves. The city will provides tool, extra work gloves, water, snacks and instructions.

All participants are required to complete a volunteer waiver. Those younger than 18 years old must have a parent signature, while volunteers younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information and the waiver form, visit www.redmond.gov/waiverform. Groups are encouraged to call in advance, Barbara Sullivan at (425) 556-2845.
