Redmond High students place at state solo and ensemble competition

From April 29 to May 1, Redmond High School (RHS) students competed at the Washington State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

From April 29 to May 1, Redmond High School (RHS) students competed at the Washington State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

In order to compete at the state level, students had to win in their instrument or vocal category at one of 22 regional contests across the state.

The following RHS students placed at the competition. A superior rating is a performance “at the highest level of artistry and technical proficiency that can be expected of a high school student.”

Junior Sierra Allen, clarinet solo, second place; sophomore Karl Ronneburg, timpani solo, second place; sophomore Alexander Ronneburg, bassoon solo, superior; senior Koyo Kim, violin solo, superior; senior Andrew Pang, viola solo, superior; sophomore Jennie Kim, viola, superior; sophomore Albert Daschle, superior; junior Lauren Park, soprano vocal, superior; and 4 K Duet, strings – small, superior.
