The League of Education Voters (LEV) and Seattle’s Child are holding a contest called “My Dream School,” to hear from a new generation of voices about how to make improvements to schools.

The contest asks students to get creative and show what their ultimate school would be like. Students can describe what the physical building looks like, how it functions or who is in it. They can talk about how they’d love to get to class using Segways; or that they’d learn to create video games; or eat spaghetti tacos for lunch; or how they want to feel like they are really learning something that matters. Whatever it is, LEV and Seattle’s Child want to know.

All entries must be submitted online and can be sent in the form of video, PowerPoint, Prezi, photos, podcast, drawings, story, sculpture, etc. The more creative, the better. All entries big and small and from individual students and classes, groups and organizations are welcome. Adults are encouraged to help.

The deadline for the contest is Jan. 31 at midnight. Winners will be announced the following week and will be mentioned on the LEV blog and Seattle’s Child website. Prizes are to be announced.

For more information and to submit entries, visit LEV’s “My Dream School” page at educationvoters.org/dream.
